This hotel is a definate option for someone who wants a “little bit more” than the usual Madagascan basic accommodation.

It is considered the classiest hotel in town and although it’s only a three star, it does offer all facilities.

It boasts about 80 rooms on 3 floors, all with TV and aircon – seaview option available as well.

Although the hotel does overlook a beach, the best swimming beach at Libonana is a good 30 minute walk or 7 minute taxi ride.

Fort Dauphin has not been discovered yet by the mass tourist industry so expect basic infrastructure but friendly and very helpful locals. It is a place for the adventurer who has been there and seen that and wants something a little different.

LOCATION

The Kaleta Hotel is situated close to town and only a short stroll to the markets, nice restaurants and the main disco.

ACTIVITIES

True Blue can organise any excurions from learning to surf to fishing excursions. Hang on the beautiful Libonana Beach where swimming is safe and also great for children. We do suggest a combination stay at Lavasoa and the Nature Reserve (see information). Other activities include windsurfing, kiteboarding, learning to surf, hiking and waterway cruises.
