Chris Bertish 24Hour SUP Record | 2nd Attempt

Chris Bertish has given the green light for tonight’s attempt to break the world record: 24 Hour SUP (Stand Up Paddle) Open Ocean Distance.
In his second attempt, to start Tuesday the 17th of February 2015, Chris plans to break the current 24 hour record of 157 km (97 miles) and try and achieve breaking the mythical 100 mile mark in 24 hours straight. Through the night and then through the following day, to try and achieve a target of 170km (105 miles) in 24 hours, this time with NO moon to help light his way, paddling blind 9 hours through the night, then through the whole of the following day.

Start Date & Time: Tuesday 17th February, 7:30pm SAST
Start location: Off Kommetjie Lighthouse -2nd attempt attempt of the 24hr Open Ocean, SUP World Record.
End point: where ever I finish- Its not point to point, its distance travelled in 24hrs

Goal– To break the mythical “100mile Barrier”, in 24hours, while simultaneously raising awareness for Miles for Smiles and for people to get involved and donate to help kids born with Cleft lips and palettes.http://milesforsmiles.co.za
