Key information explained
The food is great, with three full meals supplied each day. These are Indo style with some western flare and influence. The bar is always full of cold Bintangs and cold drinks, and the atmosphere is very chilled and laid back. No fancy stuff here, just good times, good vibes and great waves. The Loseman is set in a large garden with two main houses that consist of 8 very basic double rooms: 3 are ensuite and the others have a communal toilet and mandi. There are 2 basic wooden bungalows, and now 2 great newly tiled and modern Chalets with ensuite western toilets. These can sleep 3 persons easily. All are fan cooled, have wooden beds with mattresses and have Mozzie nets. The chalets may have airconditioning soon. All the accommodation is less than 50 metres to the surf point, and both the bar and restaurant and the viewing deck have awesome views of the wave and sunsets. A great option for surfers wanting to get away from the rat race. There is no TV or e mail here so enjoy good waves, a good book or surf mag, massage on the deck or a snooze in the hammock. There is cellphone reception at the lodge, and plans for e-mail in future. The closest e-mail is in the main local town 40 minutes away. Although a Malaria area, very few mosquitos are seen or felt, and Malaria cases are very rare - especially in dry season - April to October.
Car hire is easy and cheap, and necessary to travel to other waves in area ( if and when you get bored of the point). Really cheap from US$25 per day - for van/driver and petrol ( for 5 or 6 surfers)
