The Kaleta Hotel is situated close to town and only a short stroll to the markets, nice restaurants and the main disco. This hotel is a definate option for someone who wants a “little bit more” than the usual Madagascan basic accommodation.
It is considered the classiest hotel in town and although it’s only a three star, it does offer all facilities.
It boasts about 80 rooms on 3 floors, all with TV and aircon – seaview option available as well.
Although the hotel does overlook a beach, the best swimming beach at Libonana is a good 30 minute walk or 7 minute taxi ride.

Fort Dauphin has not been discovered yet by the mass tourist industry so expect basic infrastructure but friendly and very helpful locals. It is a place for the adventurer who has been there and seen that and wants something a little different.
