Sakalava is a 2.2 km lagoon with a reef. Wind is side to side onshore, and waves are between 1 and 3 meters on the reef. The wind "varatraz" is very strong between 20 and 35K from May to December. The Kite size used by most people regularly is a 7/9 meter kite. Water is around 27/28 degrees in May/October/November and 24/25 degrees the rest of the time.
They have current 2008 gear and stock pretty much everything. School equipment, surf boards, all size of kites, free style boards, strapless boards. The fantastic and quite unique quality of Sakalava is that the lagoon is perfect for beginners, while at the same time very challenging for pro riders.
