There are 10 family bungalows, all with a mezzanine floor and 14 double bungalows. They are simply decorated and there is hot and cold running water, separate toilets, safe and a mini bar in each bungalow.
The restaurant is the central point of the lodge and the beautiful fire place is the main focal point set in the middle of the room. The restaurant also is surrounded by glass windows so one can enjoy the beautiful view of the forest. French, Chinese and local Malagasy cuisine is on offer with a great selection of international wines.
VAKONA FOREST LODGE - activities
The Perinet Reserve is the biggest attraction in this area but if you are not exploring the reserve, Vakona Forest Lodge has many activites on offer:
Swimming pool with deckchairs for sunbathing.
A great number of walking paths and sign-posted trails lead you to the middle of the primary forest.
Horse riding is also an option to explore and discover the fauna and the flora of the forest.
A ping-pong table is also available for a quick game as well as a billiards table for those after dinner games.

Vakona Forest Lodge has a small island sanctuary which home 5 species of lemurs. Canoe over to the island and spend a couple of hours feeding, playing and stroking them. They are rather tame and it is definately a highlight of your stay at Vakona.
