Key information explained

The island is only 6.5 km long and 2 km wide at its widest point and only has a population of 300 habitants. There are no roads, only foot paths, on which one can wonder at leisure and explore its beauty and deserted beaches. The island is fringed by a spectacular coral reef to be enjoyed
by any snorkeller or scuba diver alike.

Situated at the foot of the Sacred Mountain and nature reserve is the newly constructed Sakatia Lodge. It offers four large bungalows with single or double beds, veranda, sea view, bathroom with hot and cold water showers and separate toilet. Four smaller comfortable ethnic bungalows with single or double beds, bathroom shower (cold water only) and toilet are also available. The maximum capacity for this lodge is sixteen guests. It has a stunning lounge / bar area, separate restaurant which all overlook the ocean and fringed by the sacred forest of Sakatia. Be tempted by the chefs fantasy in a blend of tropical cuisine. Your hosts Jos? and Isabella will ensure that you have the getaway of your dreams.

SAKATIA LODGE - activities


The Lodge has a dive centre and organizes other activities such as quad biking, deep sea fishing, microlighting, canoeing, tracking and exploring other islands within its vicinity. Or just simply ? Mora Mora ? the Malagasy term for slowly, slowly.
The lodge also offers a dive centre and is NAUI approved, affiliated to DAN SA and offers scuba diving and NAUI diving courses. From ?discover snorkelling" to instructor as well as speciality courses, NITROX, night diving, environmental diving, search and recovery, ASHI first aid and CPR are all on offer.
